NEXT UP!! THE BLOOMFIELDS
Suddenly, Jay heard a noise behind her. She turned swiftly, drawing her weapon and pressed the trigger, hitting her target.
In the bedroom, the gunshot distracted Chilton giving Donavan the upper hand. He was able to grab his gun from under the pillow, shooting Chilton at close range in the forehead. The sound of the gunshot from the bedroom made Steven hurry down. But just before he made it to the door, Donavan came out the room and shot him in the throat. He swiftly turned to Jay and shot the gun out of her hand.
He aimed for another shot but was interrupted by coughing. Donavan looked down the hall toward his daughter’s bedroom. The sight of his five-year-old daughter laying in the doorway of her bedroom in a pool of blood devastated him.
“Donese!” yelled Donavan as he hurried over to his daughter.
Jay took the opportunity to get away. She hurried down the back stairs, out the back door of the mansion, and down the street. She ran past Chilton’s car not bothering to stop because the keys were in his pocket. Jay ran nonstop for several blocks in the darkness until she reached a gas station.
She hurried inside and purchased a pack of washcloths, peroxide, a bandage wrap, and a half pint of Vodka.
“Where’s the restroom?” Jay asked, placing a fifty on the counter.
Downtown, Rena exited the boutique, locked up, and began walking toward the building she lived in. She looked forward to whatever Kay’Ron had prepared for dinner. She dialed Karen’s phone number and still no answer. She began checking for any missed text messages from her but nothing. Karen had been MIA for some time. Kay’Ron ensured her that everything was fine, this was just how she and Zak were when they were on. They possessed each other’s time and acted as if they did not know anyone.
Rena was so distracted with her phone that she did not notice two men and two women walking towards her. Once in arms reach, Shawneece pulled the ski mask over her face and lunged for Rena and began beating her. Rena lost her balance and fell to the ground. All four individuals began kicking her. The other female was Shavon who aimed for the stomach area. It was the longest seven minutes of Rena’s life as she laid balled up trying to protect her face and stomach.
“Come on, that’s enough. Let’s go before someone sees us,” said one of the men.
Everyone ran down the block and got inside a gray chevy impala and sped away. Rena lay on the ground in pain, she felt fluids pouring from between her legs. The stickiness meant it had to be blood. Feeling weak, she managed to dial 911 before passing out.
